Alison Robinson

Alison lives amid stacks of books with her husband, daughter, and a cat named Watson. Her love of story started onstage: acting and playwriting. She got her bachelor’s in theatre arts, followed by an apprenticeship at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (where, in between scenes, she sat backstage with a flashlight to devour the last book of the Harry Potter series). Eventually, she left the stage for something equally dramatic yet far more personal: a master’s degree in counseling. Years later, she turned her sights to novel writing and found in herself a well of experience, not in writing (that’s taken years of practice), but in people. From dissecting a character in a script to accompanying a client as they plumb the depths of their own heart, Alison has spent her life thinking deeply about human stories. With a lifelong love for the fantasy genre, her debut fantasy, Shadowless, explores the nature of the human soul and is equal parts theatrical and psychological… with plenty of magic throughout. Stay tuned for announcements about its upcoming release in February 2025!
