Mitch lives in Germantown, TN with his wife and two sons. He was raised in Georgia but feels most at home in the mountains of Western North Carolina where his debut novel takes place. He graduated with a degree in journalism from The University of Mississippi. He’s always had ideas for novels and short stories in his head, and when he realized he would be turning 40 in June of 2025, he decided he better get started writing before more time passes and the stories are forgotten. His novel centers around a former Appalachian Trail thru-hiker who finds an action camera while doing trail cleanup after Hurricane Helene. He soon finds that the camera captured a bear attack on a fly-fisherman several years prior. With the help of a true crime podcast host, the hiker searches for the identity of the victim and for answers to questions about what really happened after the camera stopped recording.
